Clematis ‘Roguchi‘ is summed up in a few short words… cute as a bell! And might I add VERY popular and loved! When I think of Clematis and first saw Roguchi, it was not how I pictured a Clematis to look. But once I go past that I fell in love. My Roguchi is such a strong bloomer that lasts for much of the summer. I found an old wooden ladder and that is what I have my plant growing on. A definite focal point in my garden.
(Clematis) Clematis ‘Roguchi’ is a newer Japanese Clematis which features unusual 2″ bell shaped flowers of intense, deep blue/purple with lighter blue recurved petals. This lax clinger is very fragrant and free flowering. ‘Roguchi’ is very long blooming from June thru September.
Prune Group 3 – Prune lightly above the new leaf buds in early spring and remove any dead or weak stems. Varieties within this group flower on the new season’s growth.
One of many customer reviews on this plant.
This is the only Clematis I have found in 25 years that will bloom reliably with limited sun. Limited meaning about 3-4 hours of morning-to-noon, i.e., REALLY limited! In its 3rd year, it bloomed for 3 months — amazing…. AND it is SO beautiful, delicate and elegant. We grow it right by our kitchen door and see it each time we go outside. A pure joy!
