Thymus serpyllum ‘Magic Carpet’

(Creeping Thyme) Low maintenance, Thymus serpyllum ‘Magic Carpet’ will blanket those difficult sunny, dry areas and is a beautiful groundcover for rock gardens. ‘Magic Carpet’ forms a low carpet of aromatic, lemon scented, dark green leaves that are covered profusely from early through midsummer with sweet pink flowers. Thymus is cold hardy and deer resistant.

Creeping thyme is native to hot, dry Mediterranean regions. Consequently it thrives in similar conditions in American gardens. Plant it in full sun and moderately fertile, average to dry, well-drained soil. (Keep plants watered until they are established.)
