Oh how I love to walk around the greenhouse and just see what new is blooming. It changes daily with so many great products available. today on my walk I just could not help but stop and take sometime with the Dicentra ‘Burning Hearts‘. ‘Burning Heart’ is a show stopping Dicentra! The loads of deep red hearts, stung out on each fern leafed branch. Some still closed and other with their hearts wide open for all to see. The compact habit of Dicentra ‘Burning Hearts’ makes this just the right plant for borders in your shade to part shade gardens. Blooming through out the summer Dicentra ‘Burning Hearts’ will make your heart melt day after day.
(Bleeding Heart) Dicentra ‘Candy Hearts’ PP14,692 is part of a new generation of bleeding hearts that are nothing like your Grandma’s old fashioned bleeding hearts. This exceptional, dwarf variety blooms from mid spring until a hard frost! The pendulous flowers accent the lacy, blue-grey foliage and are shaped like cute little rose-pink hearts. Dicentra ‘Candy Hearts’ PP14,692 remains compact and attractive all season long! A delicate fragrance is an added bonus for the senses.
Spring color is such a welcome site! For those of you who have shade and dark places in your garden you may consider Dicentra ‘Gold Heart’ to brighten up your day. Dicentra ‘Gold Heart’ is a stunning gold-leaved form of the old-time favorite common bleeding heart! Arching peach-colored stems carry chains of deep pink heart-shaped flowers above the dramatic metallic gold leaves. The fern-like foliage appears early in the spring and provides a colorful point of interest in the shade garden. Like other Dicentra spectabilis, ‘Gold Heart‘ will go dormant during the heat of the summer. We recommend planting near hostas or ferns that will fill in the area after the Dicentra foliage dies back.
‘Burning Hearts’ PPAF is one of my favorite Dicentra. The deep red heart shape flowers contrast the blue-gray fern style foliage very well. This is an excellent plant for part to full shade plant. The long bloom time is an added bonus. ‘Burning Hearts’ PPAF is a must have for any shade garden.
(Bleeding Heart-Fern-leaved) Dicentra ‘Burning Hearts’ PPAF will add color to the front of your shade border with its neat, compact form that blooms from mid spring until the first frost. Dicentra ‘Burning Hearts’ PPAF has deep rose-red, heart-shaped blossoms that are suspended on curved stems over the feathery blue-grey foliage. Potted in your favorite container, the 10-inch height and 12-inch width plant is a great way to fill that empty shady spot in your landscape.
