I could not believe how fast Colocasia ‘Coffee Cups’ grows. I planted 2- 4.5″ pots in this container in late May and by the beginning of August this is what I had. A gorgeous, huge planter!! They love it hot and that is what they got in the middle of my back yard. In addition to the Colocasia I mixed Petunia’ Bordeaux’ and Angelonia Angelface® Pink, I was really happy with the results I got.

(West Indian Kale) Colocasia ‘Coffee Cups’ is an exciting new elephant ear that has black stems and black-tinted dark green leaves, which form an upright cup that will hold water. It grows to about 4′ or 5′ tall and prefers full sun to part shade locations. This plant does like the soil moist to wet so you could also use this as a bog plant or on the edge of water.  ‘Coffee Cups’ will add striking height to your combo planters.
