Iris ensata ‘Lion King’

Iris 'Lion King'

Iris Lion King ( Japanese Iris) HUGE!!! Blooms!!! When I was first going through the catalogs browsing some of the new plant selections I really like the look of Iris Lion King. It was a pretty Bi color and we really did not have any Japanese Iris at the time. It was not until this Iris bloomed that I really could enjoy how beautiful this plant is. The blooms are absolutely huge, petals upon petals of this double iris produce 7-8″ blooms! Japanese Iris are one of the later iris’ to bloom extending your Iris season.

Autumn Charm™ Sedum

Sedum Autumn Charm

Sedum ‘ Autumn Charm‘ is a sport of  Sedum ‘Autumn Joy‘. There are other variegated varieties out there but the consistent variegation in Sedum ‘Autumn Charm‘ is like no other. Sedum are a great addition to a full sun garden and also tolerate drought conditions. In the late summer Sedum are a natural attraction for the butterflies. Deer on the other hand will generally stay away from Sedum, deer resistant they are. Sedum are a great addition for late summer color.

Simply Scentsational® Heliotropium

Heliotropium Simply Scentsational

Heliotropum ‘Simply Scentsational‘ an amazingly fragrant new annual from Proven Winners. The Scentsational scent is a light and refreshing smell of grapes. When I first came across this plant setting on the bench in the garden center I noticed a nice fragrance, the scent lead my nose to the bloom and I was amazed. When showing a customer this plant the first thing I do is stick it up to their nose, the smell draws them in and they take the bait. The plant is now sold, hook, line and sinker 🙂 I recently stated on face book if only a picture could be scratch and sniff. ‘Simply Scentsational‘  is a sun loving annual that also is drought tolerant. The hummingbirds and butterflies are naturally attracted to this native variety.

Graceful Grasses® Toffee Twist Carex

Carex 'Toffee Twist'

This was not love at first sight when I first saw Toffee Twist. I was hesitant about the brown foliage. I decided that I had to give it a chance, so I planted it up in a combination planter with reds and oranges and it is looking great! The foliage stands tall with a flowing/sweeping look. I really think that this ‘brown’ grass is going to be a hit.- Heidi

(Toffee Twist Sedge Grass) Graceful Grasses® Toffee Twist slender, iridescent leaves offer an elegant sweeping, trailing habit. The bronze foliage makes a great addition to combination planters, it is a thriller that adds height and interest to your planters. Toffee Twist also looks magnificent in borders, or cascading over walls. Carex Toffee Twist prefers moist soil and sun to part shade. Toffee Twist is a cool-season grass. Where temperatures get colder than 5 degrees F, the plants should be treated as annuals.

Anna-Louise™ Clematis

Clematis 'Anna Louise'

(Clematis) This is the first year we have carried Clematis ‘Anna Louise‘. I love the contrast of purple and magenta on each petal. Standing 8-10 foot with its large 5-6″ vibrant flowers ‘Anna Louise‘ is a stand out. The white anthers contrast beautifully with the purple red flower. Blooming early summer and early fall this reblooming clematis is sure to please.
