My most favorite Spring Flower is Lupines. Lupines come in a range of colors from red, to pink, to purple and yellow. Lupine heights can vary from shorter varieties like the Gallery series which is 18-24″ and also taller varieties like the Russell Hybrids.

Lupinus x hybrida ‘Gallery Blue’

Lupine “Gallery Blue” is a great perennial that provides you with spring color. Lupine come in a range of colors and sizes, but I prefer the shorter varieties. Lupine Gallery Red and Gallery Blue are both staple plants in my garden, they are the go to plant when referring someone for spring color. The unique star shaped leaves have nice texture and interest  in the garden. The multiple spike flower heads provide a ton of color. If you love your Lupines let them go to seed and sprinkle it around. Lupine like dry, well drained soil. Attracting hummingbirds and butterflies is an great attribute of Lupines.

Memorial Day is a day to reflect the freedom that we have been blessed with. Thank you to all the veterans past, present and future for your sacrifice that you have given. Thank you to all the families who have let their Men & Women go out to protect all that we have today.

May God Bless You and God Bless America!

Graceful Grasses® Toffee Twist Carex

Carex 'Toffee Twist'

This was not love at first sight when I first saw Toffee Twist. I was hesitant about the brown foliage. I decided that I had to give it a chance, so I planted it up in a combination planter with reds and oranges and it is looking great! The foliage stands tall with a flowing/sweeping look. I really think that this ‘brown’ grass is going to be a hit.- Heidi

(Toffee Twist Sedge Grass) Graceful Grasses® Toffee Twist slender, iridescent leaves offer an elegant sweeping, trailing habit. The bronze foliage makes a great addition to combination planters, it is a thriller that adds height and interest to your planters. Toffee Twist also looks magnificent in borders, or cascading over walls. Carex Toffee Twist prefers moist soil and sun to part shade. Toffee Twist is a cool-season grass. Where temperatures get colder than 5 degrees F, the plants should be treated as annuals.

Bourbon™ Clematis ‘Evipo 018’

Clematis 'Bourbon'

I have always thought that the picture that was supplied to us when we first started selling ‘Bourbon’ made it look like an amazing Clematis. The other day when I was walking through the greenhouses I found one in bloom. This was the first time that I had actually seen the real deal, and I am very impressed by the beautiful coloration of this bloom. The blooms are just as large as the description says. I think I may need to find a new home for a “Bourbon” Clematis this year! -Heidi

(Clematis) Bourbon™ Clematis is an exciting new compact clematis from Raymond J. Evison. Evison specifically hybridized this prized variety for patio containers. The compact growth reaches only 3-4 feet tall, which makes it a perfect fit for large patio pots. Bourbon™ is equally happy though when grown in the ground and allowed to scramble up a small trellis. The large 6 inch flowers are red with bright purple bars in the center of each petal. Flowers rebloom throughout the summer for an incredible display!

Heuchera ‘Paris’ PP18,881

Heuchera 'Paris'

Heuchera ‘Paris’ has got to be one of my most favorite Heuchera. I love the fact that the bright red flowers bloom almost all summer long. Heuchera are known for their great foliage colors, but most have insignificant flowers( in my opinion). ‘Paris’ will not disappoint in either of these categories!- Heidi

(Coral Bells) Heuchera ‘Paris‘ PP18,881 is a free-flowering cousin to ‘Hollywood’ PP17,129 with striking, medium size white-veiled leaves that give rise to columns of large, deep rose colored flowers. An excellent repeat bloomer which makes ‘Paris’ PP18,881 great in containers and in the border. Hummingbirds and butterflies will love the bright color!
