Invincibelle™ Spirit Hydrangea arborescens ‘NCHA1′ PPAF
(Hydrangea – Smooth) Invincibelle™ Spirit Hydrangea is a gardeners dream come true. You have loved Hydrangea ‘Annabelle’ for many years, now you can have it in a BRIGHT pink color. It is the first mop-head form of Hydrangea arborescent. This variety is very hardy and blooms on new wood, meaning that the flowers are very reliable even with harsh winters. Invincibelle™ Spirit has strong flower power and continues to bloom from early summer until frost.
In the south it is recommended that Invincibelle™ Spirit be planted in part shade. A Proven Winners® ColorChoice® Flowering Shrub.
Luau™ Pipedream Tangerine Hibiscus
(Tropical Hibiscus) Luau™ Pipedream Tangerine PPAF Hibiscus was bred and selected for its bright, clear flower colors as well as its deep green foliage. Bursts of clear, bright orange blooms with a pink eye cover Luau™ Pipedream Tangerine PPAF from early summer until fall.
ColorBlaze™ Dark Star Coleus
We made up some beautiful combination planters this year and this is one of them. In this combination we included Coleus Dark Star, Lemon Symphony Osteospermum and Calibrachoa Blue. A suggestion that I have to make a nice full looking Coleus is to trim them back to about 6″ once they originally get about 12″.
(Coleus) Color Blaze™ Dark Star Solenostemon is a must have for all coleus lovers. The stunning dark purple foliage gives great color all season long. Color Blaze™ Dark Star is another great introduction from Proven Winners!
Lil’ Kim™ Hibiscus syriacus ‘Antong Two’
(Rose Of Sharon) Lil’ Kim™ Hibiscus is one of the most exciting new plants that we are offering! This shrub was hybridized in South Korea and it is the only miniature Rose of Sharon in the world. Growing to only 3-4 feet tall, this unique little shrub creates many new landscape and garden uses; like mixed containers or perennial beds. The 3-inch pure white flowers are punctuated with a showy red eye and last for three days instead of one day like other Rose of Sharons. The thick, dark green leaves of Lil’ Kim™ complete the ensemble for an outstanding landscape plant! A Proven Winners® ColorChoice® Flowering Shrub.
Cityline™Mars Hydrangea macrophylla ‘Ramars’
(Big Leaf Hydrangea) Cityline™ Mars Hydrangea is a small 1 to 3 foot plant that knows how to draw attention and become an exceptional visual standout in your landscape. Cityline™ Mars was developed in Europe and its strong stems can easily handle the big, heavy, red and white variegated flowers. The blooms can be changed from red to blue by adding aluminum sulfate and change to a beautiful green shade as they age. A Proven Winners® ColorChoice® Flowering Shrub.
Black Lace™ Sambucus nigra ‘Eva’
(Elderberry) Black Lace™ Sambucus is perhaps the coolest new plant on the market! This new Sambucus looks more like a Japanese maple or a Cimicifuga but it is a whole lot easier to grow. The lacy, intense purple-black foliage offers unique texture to the garden and provides season long interest. In midsummer, massive clusters of pink flowers cover the plant and emit a light lemon fragrance. The flowers are a wonderful contrast to the dark foliage. Black Lace™ is extremely durable and an excellent grower! A Proven Winners® ColorChoice® Flowering Shrub.
Dalina® Grande Toluca Dahlia
(Dahlia) Dalina® Grande Toluca Dahlia displays an outstanding amount of large, double yellow flowers that will provide you with continuous color from spring to first frost. Proven Winners® Dalina® Grande Toluca provides a beautiful plant that is excellent in containers and in the landscape. Deadheading is recommended to encourage additional blooms.
Supertunia® Cotton Candy Petunia
(Petunia) Supertunia® Cotton Candy Petunia is a fast growing, beautiful, candy-pink color petunia. The trailing habit of Supertunia® Cotton Candy makes this a great choice for hanging baskets and combination planters. A self-cleaning petunia so no deadheading is necessary. Petunias are a fragrant flower that attract hummingbirds.
Bangle™ Genista lydia ‘Select’
(Dyers-Greenwood) Bangle™ Genista is a new, more floriferous and longer blooming selection of Genista that produces waves of electric yellow flowers in early spring. After the spring bloom, this nearly leafless plant has bright green stems that provide interesting year round texture and color. Bangle™ is easy to grow and makes a lovely low hedge of 2 feet tall by 2 feet wide. Heat tolerant and adaptable to nearly any well-drained soil. A Proven Winners® ColorChoice® Flowering Shrub.
Note from Heidi: I love the mass of mounding yellow color in the spring when this little jewel blooms. It gives the garden a great punch of yellow color when very few things are blooming.
Edgy™ Hearts Hydrangea
macrophylla ‘Horheart’ PPAF
If there is one Hydrangea that I have to say is my favorite, Edgy Hearts just took the prize. I had planted one of these in a large container to put in my yard this spring. And needless to say it was ready before my yard was ready so I put it in the store to be sold. Everybody asked “is it real”? The deep dark green foliage looked like plastic. The masses of HUGE blooms looked to good to be real. Everybody came up to it and just had to touch it to be sure. The blooms were much larger than what my hand could hold and the amount of blooms were just amazing. The strong sturdy stems held the large blooms with no problem. A must have for you Hydrangea collection!
(Hydrangea Picotee) Edgy™ Hearts Hydrangea has dark pinkish-red flowers, with heart-shaped petals that are emphasized by narrow, white line margins along the edges. Edgy™ Hearts was developed in Dresden, Germany and grows to 2-4 feet with strong stems and glossy foliage. The addition of aluminum sulfate will push the flower color to a blue hue creating a dramatic new look. A Proven Winners® ColorChoice® Flowering Shrub
